		+	Gothar stands over an anvil in the superheated forge. His 5’8” heavily muscled frame sweats freely but he does not notice. The anvil and hammer designed for him by a master bladesmith. He thinks back on how he met his master of the forge. Having decided long ago that the way of the blade was his way. Becoming proficient in dispatching his foes close up and inside their guard with his short blades that he always keeps on his person or in arms length. Having mastered their use, he wanted to master their making. Unfortunately he knew no one. He came across a great blade every now and again but never met a true master bladesmith. One day honing his skills in a tournament he found himself faced with another noghri. His scent unfamiliar, his face shaped differently than his own it looks honorable and worthy of respect. Stepping back he gives him a nod in greeting “Gothar Elensar good sir, I am pleased to meet you on the field.” His oppenent nods “Sekou - well met.” The two meet each other in battle, Gothars well worn dual blades flash dully in the light while his opponent slides his blades from their sheathes. They nearly hum as they come into sight the torchlight from the arena gleams off them as though mirrors. Momentarily distracted by the fine blades he charges to close the gap. With a turn of his wrist Sekou neatly snags both of Gothars blades along his own then swing around with an overhead slice neatly breaking off both blades at the hilt with the heavier long knife. Pushing his fist up into Gothar’s chin he says but a single word “Yield.” Gothar nods and the victor sheathes his blades with nary a sound and turns striding away. Collecting his broken blades he follows Sekou into the crowds and spies him entering an unassuming blacksmith….

		+	Coming back to his senses as the hammer rings against the steel blade he is working he grimaces not happy with that strike and is glad his master wasnt here to see how poorly it was placed. Pumping the bellows a few times to stoke the fire He makes an interesting picture. Clothed in a heavy leather kilt and leather apron over his chest leaving his arms and shoulders bare in the forge. Sweat flows freely staining the sturdy apron. His hammer strikes the blade properly this time correcting the mistake from the last strike a shower of sparks rain down against him leaving a mark on his forearm. The blade on the anvil held in place with a pair of tongs he picks it up examining the blade with a smile. Not at Sekou’s level but he has learned a lot from his master. He finds a small flaw in the metal and goes back to pounding to move the flaw off the edge of the blade. His soot and sweat covered body gleams in the firelight of the forge. He feels the other tools swing against his leg, smaller hammer and two pairs of pliers for the finer work he will be doing shortly.
